This World Sake Day on 1 October, we hand you the map and pour a journey across eight of its sake regions.

In partnership with Cellar Mates, we present The 8-Region Grand Slam: A Terroir Journey Across Japan – with expressive regional pours and Japanese cultural experiences across one opening evening, followed by ten days of celebration bringing together new Spring menus and sake across the precinct.

Proudly held as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of Australia–Japan Friendship and Cooperation. 

OPENING NIGHT — 1 October 2026
Celebrate World Sake Day with us from 5pm.

For one evening, the Courtyard brings together the sake of eight regions of Japan, each explored through its own tasting station and story.

Begin with welcome sake on arrival before tasting your way across Japan. Throughout the evening, experience a live tuna-cutting presentation with freshly prepared platters, alongside ikebana, kendo and koto experiences bringing Japanese culture to life around you — plus an Opening Night Omikukji lucky draw.

Opening Night access is complimentary for guests with a dining reservation at Prefecture 48 between 1–10 October.

Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

TEN DAYS OF CELEBRATION — 1–10 October 2026
Spring Meets Sake.

The celebration continues across selected Prefecture 48 venues — Garaku, FIVE, Omakase, Ibushi and Whisky Thief — with new Spring menus, exclusive sake selections and flights, alongside limited seasonal tuna add-on dishes.

Every guest dining with us throughout the celebration will also receive a daily omikuji lucky draw.
